The five petaled rose is the sign of the Feminine Divine and the Great Mother of the Gods. It represents the planet Venus, symbol of human desire, love, health, secrecy and has been used as a charm against evil spirits. The rose is also a pentagram, which, when turned point downward, is a symbol of the Feminine Divine. The term Mary is very old. It means Mother, Sister, Priestess, Wife. Marys have been in service to humanity since before the Christian era. Our Mary icons are Isis, Mary, the Mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. |
